[Above] The Capitol Theatre
328 North Street, Pittsfield, Massachusetts
[Caption] Opened in the 1920s, the Capitol Theatre was a major fixture in Pittsfield’s downtown business district for six decades until its closure in the 1980’s. As the development of suburban malls increased, the demand for a centralized downtown theatre dwindled. Today, the facade remains, but the building has been converted into senior housing.
