Monument Square: Then and Now

[Above] I'm planning a larger project for Troy and Albany that combines historic images with today's landscape in one seamless composition. This image is a composite of an image taken this morning and an image from around 1891 of the statue of Columbia as it was being placed on top of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Troy, New York.

Capitol Theatre Facade

[Above] The Capitol Theatre
328 North Street, Pittsfield, Massachusetts

[Caption] Opened in the 1920s, the Capitol Theatre was a major fixture in Pittsfield’s downtown business district for six decades until its closure in the 1980’s. As the development of suburban malls increased, the demand for a centralized downtown theatre dwindled. Today, the facade remains, but the building has been converted into senior housing.
